WHY CHOOSE ME?

Whether you are a complete novice, a part-trained learner or even an experienced driver, I can help you to achieve your goal. Established in 2008, my aim is to teach you to drive well, pass your test first time, and without taking too long - that's why so many of my previous students recommend me.

You want more reasons?  So, you should.

  • With 29 years' experience teaching people to drive well, I have worked for national driving schools as a driving instructor, a driving school manager, an area manager, and, since 2008, have continued to teach students as an independent instructor.
  • I am member of the Driving Instructors Association and have Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
  • I am based in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire and cover the area along the beautiful River Dee, from Crathie to Banchory. My students generally pass their driving tests in either Ballater or Aberdeen, however other arrangements can be discussed.
  • I also teach the DVSA's Pass Plus course, Defensive Driving, Advanced Driving, Winter Skills, as well as sessions for those who wish to fine tune their skills - reverse parking, overtaking etc.

And for those who consider themselves a nervous learner, why not take a 2-hour taster session?  No commitment!

Where can I sit my Practical Test?

Generally speaking, it's up to you.  If you live in a rural area and want to pass your Practical Test nearby, I can offer you tests in Ballater.  Should you wish to pass your Practical Test in a city, I cover the Aberdeen North and Aberdeen South test centres.

What about my Theory Test?

Whilst a student is learning to drive, we will also begin to cover the Theory Test. Of course, there's nothing to stop a learner studying or even passing the Theory Test before they begin their driving lessons but for those students who haven't already passed their Theory Test, we will cover the syllabus during lessons.

Matching knowledge with practice can often make it easier to remember the information.

I can also organise Zoom sessions to assist with the Hazard Perception part of the Theory Test.

There is some more information about Theory studying on the 'Learners' tab above.
